8. Note regarding the InventoryFix App

The InventoryFix iOS App offers you two different AI options for recognizing your items. You are free to choose which variant you want to use.

On-Device AI (Local)

With On-Device AI, all data is processed completely locally on your device. No images or data are transmitted to external servers. The AI models used (CoreML with YOLOv3 and MobileNetV2) run exclusively on your iPhone or iPad.

Cloud AI (Online)

With Cloud AI, your captured images are transmitted to external AI services to enable advanced and more accurate object recognition. This requires an active internet connection.

Important notes on Cloud AI:

  • ⚠️ Images are sent to third-party servers for analysis
  • ⚠️ An internet connection is required
  • ⚠️ Data may be processed on servers outside the EU
  • ✅ You must explicitly consent to Cloud AI usage
  • ✅ You can revoke consent at any time in the app settings

The use of Cloud AI takes place exclusively based on your explicit consent (Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a GDPR). This consent is requested when starting the Cloud AI function for the first time and can be revoked at any time.

Cloud AI Providers:

a) Google Gemini (Main Model)

  • Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland
  • Purpose: AI-powered object recognition and tagging
  • Data Transfer: Images are transmitted encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) to Google Gemini
  • Storage: Images are processed temporarily for analysis and not permanently stored according to Google Cloud API policies
  • Legal Basis: Your consent (Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a GDPR)

b) Alibaba Cloud Qwen-VL (Beta Feature)

  • Provider: Alibaba Cloud (Singapore) Private Limited, 26th Floor, Tower One, Times Square, 1 Matheson Street, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong
  • Purpose: Alternative AI-powered object recognition (Beta feature)
  • Data Transfer: Images are transmitted encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) to Alibaba Cloud Model Studio
  • Storage: Images are processed temporarily for analysis and not permanently stored according to Alibaba Cloud API policies
  • Legal Basis: Your consent (Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a GDPR)
  • Privacy Policy: https://www.alibabacloud.com/en/legal/privacy
  • Note: Qwen-VL is a beta feature and may change or be discontinued at any time
  • Free Requests: Beta users receive 5 free requests per month. After reaching the limit, 2 additional one-time requests are granted for testing purposes.

c) Cloudflare Worker (Data Processing)

  • Provider: Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA
  • Purpose: Secure routing of image data to AI services, rate limiting, authentication
  • Data Processing: The Worker processes image data temporarily in memory and routes it encrypted to the AI providers
  • Storage: No permanent storage of image data. Rate limiting data is stored for 1 hour in Cloudflare KV (anonymized device ID)
  • Legal Basis: Legitimate interest in abuse prevention (Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR)

Data Storage

Regardless of the chosen AI option, the app stores your inventory data exclusively locally on your device using Apple SwiftData. You always have full control over your data and can delete it directly in the app.

9. Validity of this Privacy Policy

This privacy policy is currently valid and has the status: March 2026.

Due to the further development of our website or due to changed legal or official requirements, it may become necessary to change this privacy policy.
